Serena's Fanverse is a small, non-commercial fanfiction archive run by a single admin for fun and community. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language.

What we collect

  • Account info: username, email, password (hashed), date joined.
  • Content you post: stories, summaries, chapter notes, reviews, favorites, and ratings.
  • Basic logs: IP address and timestamps when you log in, post, or trigger errors (helps with spam/security).
  • Cookies: strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and remember preferences.

What we do not do

  • No advertising cookies, trackers, or third-party ad networks.
  • No sale of personal data. No data sharing for marketing.

Why we collect data

  • Run the archive (logins, posting, moderation, spam prevention).
  • Maintain security and fix bugs.
  • Send essential account emails (registration, password reset, policy updates).

How long we keep data

  • Account data and posted content are kept until you delete them or ask us to remove them.
  • Security logs are typically rotated within 90 days unless needed for abuse/technical investigation.
  • Backups may keep deleted items for up to 30-60 days before they expire.

Your choices

  • You can edit or delete your stories and reviews from your account panel.
  • To delete your account or request a data export, email contact@serenawalken.net from the address on file.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for readers 13+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child?s data is here, contact us and we?ll remove it.

Where data is stored

Data is hosted in the United States with our web host (YOUR HOST). If you access the site from another country, your data will be processed in the U.S.

Third parties

We currently do not use analytics. If we add privacy-respecting analytics later, we?ll update this page and list the vendor here.
